How far you go up decides everything else about the job: the tire you can run, whether the factory upper control arm still has ball joint angle left, and whether the shocks that came off the truck are long enough to put back on. How much lift do you actually need?
A kit can fit the truck and still be wrong for the plan. Pick the row that matches what you want to run, and it tells you what else has to go in the cart.
Leveling — 1″ to 2.5″
You want the nose up and a slightly bigger tire. Front spacer or strut preload, rear untouched. Bolt-on in an afternoon with hand tools, and an alignment afterwards is part of the job rather than an extra.
SHOP LEVELING KITSSuspension lift — 3″ to 4″
A real tire size jump and visible stance. Front and rear together, engineered as a matched set with shocks valved for the new height. Past about 3″ most independent front ends want upper control arms.
SHOP COMPLETE KITSBig lift — 6″ and up
Bracket kits that relocate the front geometry. Driveshaft length and brake line reach both come into it, and this is shop-install territory rather than a weekend in the driveway.
